Parents, students, and admissions reps are raving about BFAbff:
“Thank you so much! What an incredible resource!”
“This is going to keep my mom from going crazy.“
“I’m recommending this to every student who visits our program. Thanks for saying what we’re all thinking.”
It’s not a college guide. It’s a navigation tool.
There’s no doubt about it: The application process is just different for theatre majors.
BFA BFF comes from my years of experience working as an admissions rep for a BFA theatre program. I got tired of seeing the same mistakes being made, year after year, by students and parents. I tried to help as many as I could, but I was limited to only reaching those who visited my school.
So I started writing this book.
Over 3-4 years, off and on, I started jotting down thoughts about this process based on what I observed of visiting families, blog posts, online forum discussions, and social media. I’ve included bad examples – true stories anonymized to protect the guilty – of behavior and pitfalls to avoid. Not a book for the faint of heart, this is a real-world, tough-love approach to a process that is sometimes a little too sugar-coated by schools and educators.
Sample chapters include:
- 3 Essays We’re Sick of Reading
- Monologue-Hunting Tips For Actors
- 5 Ways to Really Annoy Your Admissions Rep
- Portfolios for Non-Actors
- College Visits 101
…and lots more!
Currently only available in ebook format, BFA BFF is meant to supercharge what you’re already doing in your college search and application plan. It’s not meant to be your only tool, but it might just be your most useful one.
The competition to get into a great BFA program is fierce. I can give you an edge on that competition.
