About me
I attended an undergraduate theatre program, majoring in acting, and spent many years as a working theatre artist in a major American city. Later, I worked as an admissions rep for a BFA Conservatory theatre program for over a decade, walking students and parents through the process of applying to my BFA program.
In that time, I saw some amazing applicants, but I’m sure you can believe I also saw some real head-scratchers.
I watched students make the same mistakes over and over, year after year on their college applications for my theatre program. I worked with lots of great monologue coaches and lovely independent college counselors on their students’ college applications, but the monologue coaches didn’t always get the college side, and the counselors didn’t always get the theatre side… leaving the poor students stuck in the middle with their parents wondering what’s right.
Over the years I wished there was some kind of guide out there, to help students and parents with college applications for theatre programs. I even toyed with the idea of putting together a workshop to bring to high schools, as kind of a theatre-specific college application specialist, to help with this crazy process.
In the end, I decided to leave my position and create that guide, offering my services virtually to families outside my immediate area who need help applying to college theatre programs.
So how can I help you? No question is too big, too small, or too weird. I’ve seen it all!
Hope to talk to you soon!
